A fan-made list of the 50 worst rappers has gone viral for placing some big names on it, finding its way across the internet and being re-posted by popular rap music accounts like Records and World Star Hip-Hop on Instagram and Rapology on Facebook.
The post shared by World Star Hip-Hop has amassed over 67.7 thousand likes and nearly 22,000 comments, while the Records post has gained more than 15.3 thousand likes and over 2,000 comments. The Facebook post has also received plenty of interactions, with nearly 500 likes, over 500 comments, and almost 100 shares. The list is everywhere if you’re following rap pages on social media.
Why it’s gone viral? Well, some of the placings are ridiculous – some of the names that made the list just shouldn’t be there. Ludacris, the 36th worst rapper of all time? Earl Sweatshirt at #34? Flo Rida at #40?
21 Savage made the list at #50, Freeway at #35, YG at #47, and Bow Wow at #39… These are just some of the names making the rounds in the comment sections of the posts, with rap fans in disbelief that those artists were placed anywhere on a “worst rappers” list.
Notably, Australia’s own Iggy Azalea also made the list (#26), and minimal complaints were made about much of the list, including Lil Yachty at #3 and Vanilla Ice at #13.
“They got most of them right, but the ones they got wrong are WRONG,” one Facebook user wrote. “The thing that confuses me the most is how he has Flo Rida on here but not Pitbull because they’re both in the same lane of music and had the crazy similar music journeys.”
On Instagram, plenty of objections were made, with a user writing, “Luda, Cassidy, Memphis Bleek and Logic though really??,” another fan stating, “MY GOAT EARL SWEATSHIRT IS PEAK,” someone else proclaiming, “Whoever made this list needs their rap card revoked asap,” and the best comment of all: “Ludacris on this list is ludacris.”
