Deputies attempted to stop a car without a license plate, Deherrera fled from deputies and even drove down dirt roads in the Pajarito Mesa, nearly crashing. Deherrera had a warrant out for failure to appear after police say he ran from them in December 2023 when he was caught with burglary tools. He also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest in that case.

Judge Brett Loveless accepted the plea deal and sentenced Deherrera to seven months in jail, but with time served Deherrera will be released and spend 23 months under supervised probation.
