The Albuquerque Police Department was called to the home of David Olivas and Gallegos back in May 2023 because their child was unconscious. According to a criminal complaint, medical personnel had to use Narcan on the child. APD found a baggie of fentanyl out in the open that was accessible to both children in the home.

Olivas was sentenced previously sentenced to probation for his role in the overdose. Judge Bruce Fox sentenced Gallegos to drug court. If she doesn’t successfully complete the program she faces six years behind bars.
