In the Colts’ recent matchup against the Jaguars, right guard Will Fries sustained a significant injury to his right tibia. The incident occurred late in the third quarter, with just 5:22 remaining on the clock during the team’s narrow 37-34 defeat. While executing a run block for running back Trey Sermon, Fries found himself caught in a pile between two Jaguars defenders, resulting in an awkward bend of his leg that raised immediate concern.

The Colts’ medical staff promptly rushed to his aid, and Fries was fitted with an air cast. Following treatment on the field, he was stabilized on a backboard and carted off to the locker room for further evaluation. According to a source reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Fries indeed suffered a fracture.

This injury adds to the growing list of setbacks for the Colts, who are already dealing with the absence of starting quarterback Anthony Richardson due to an oblique injury, and running back Jonathan Taylor, who is sidelined with an ankle sprain. After the game, head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that Fries would need surgery in Jacksonville to address his tibia injury.
