As per Fightful Select behind paywall, a “longtime employee of WWE” revealed that the debut of RAW on Netflix is poised to generate significant “buzz.” Sources suggest that discussions about the debut episode to have positioned it as having “the quality of a PLE.” The promotion views this move to Netflix as “their next leap in popularity.” However, specific plans have not yet been disclosed.
The debut episode is expected to feature major stars. John Cena, the 16th World Heavyweight Champion, has already confirmed his appearance. Cena will kick off his retirement tour during the debut episode of RAW on Netflix. Also, WWE is reportedly planning to deliver premium live events. Fans can expect major title matches and the possibility of SmackDown making an appearance on the platform.
