The tension between The New Day members, Xavier Woods and former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, continues to escalate. This week on WWE RAW, Xavier Woods faced Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship.
Last week, Kofi Kingston informed Xavier Woods that he had received an Intercontinental title match against Jey Uso. Woods expressed his displeasure over Kingston getting the match instead of him. However, Kingston clarified that he had passed the opportunity to Woods, and Jey Uso accepted it.
Excited about the chance, Woods believed he could defeat Jey Uso for the title. However, during their match on the latest edition of WWE RAW, Woods struggled to gain momentum and lost to Jey Uso. Woods felt frustrated after the defeat, but Jey Uso still helped him to his feet. After shaking hands with Kofi Kingston, Jey Uso extended his hand to Woods, who ignored him and walked away.
In a shocking turn of events, Bron Breakker entered the ring to attack Jey Uso. Kofi Kingston tried to protect him, only to take a beating himself. Previously, Breakker had congratulated Jey on his victory last week at WWE RAW.
Meanwhile, Bron Breakker delivered a spear to Woods outside the ring while he was checking on Kingston. Xavier Woods was attacked again while tending to his partner, Kofi Kingston. Following WWE RAW, both stars had a tense conversation.
Xavier Woods expresses confusion to Kofi Kingston
In an interview following RAW, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston quarreled about Woods’ loss and Breakker’s attack. Kingston questioned Woods about not shaking Jey Uso’s hand or helping him during Bron’s attack.
Xavier Woods expressed frustration at always being the one expected to take responsibility, especially after losing to Uso for the Intercontinental Championship. He felt it wasn’t his place to intervene in the situation between Uso and Breakker. When Kingston asked if this was their new dynamic, Woods admitted he wasn’t sure what they were doing anymore.
For months, WWE has been hinting at rising tension between the members of The New Day. With their 10th anniversary approaching, fans are left wondering if a split will occur during this milestone celebration. Only time will tell.
