UNM confirms it will play volleyball game against San Jose State next week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Tuesday night, the University of New Mexico said it will play an upcoming volleyball game next week against San Jose State. The San Jose State women’s volleyball team last week had its fourth game canceled by opponents for reasons that have not been specified.

However, the forfeits follow claims in a lawsuit that a player on the team is transgender. Those teams are Southern Utah, Boise State, Utah State, and Wyoming. San Jose State did play last week against Colorado State.

A spokesman for UNM athletics told KRQE News 13 that the Lobos will play the match against San Jose State as scheduled in Albuquerque next week on October 17.
