To celebrate the opening of a new exhibition marking 20 years of The Mighty Boosh, check out exclusive photos by Dave Brown on NME below.

Behind The Boosh 20 was first exhibited in Australia last summer and will be coming to Behind The Gallery at 2 Hoxton Street from October 10-13 – providing a peak behind the curtain of the seminal and zeitgeist-capturing surreal comedy about failing musicians turned zoo-keepers and later shop-owners, Howard Moon and Vince Noir.

The photos were taken by cast member Dave Brown – who played Bollo the ape in the show – who captured candid moments of the comedy troupe backstage and on st.

“I’m in total denial that it’s been 20 years since I donned a fake mullet and sprayed on the fake tan to play Joey Moose in ‘Killeroo’, the first episode of season 1 back in 2004,” Brown said in a press release. “I had a Nokia brick phone back then, social media consisted only of Friends Reunited and MySpace, Franz Ferdinand were Number One and Rich Fulcher had a perm.”

He added: “It’s been a while since I showed some Behind The Boosh pics to the UK fans! It’s gonna be great to get my monkey hands back into the dusty Boosh archives to find some old fan-favourite classics but I’m also keen to show some never-before-seen moments from all the TV and Live shows.”

Check out a selection of exclusive photos of Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding, Rich Fulcher and co below, along with insight from Brown on the moments he captured.
