Justin Timberlake postpones show after “injury that is preventing me from performing”

Justin Timberlake has postponed a live show after sustaining an “injury that is preventing [him] from performing”.

The ‘Cry Me A River’ singer had been scheduled to perform at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday night (October 8) as part of his current ‘Forget Tomorrow’ North American tour.

However, just an hour before he was due on stage, Timberlake shared a statement online confirming that the gig would not be going ahead.

“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show,” the message began. “I have an injury that is preventing me from performing.

“I’m so disappointed not to see you all, but I’m working to reschedule ASAP.”

Timberlake continued: “I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya’ll deserve. Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always.” See the update in the post below.

As it stands, the star is set to resume his tour in Philadelphia tomorrow (October 11) ahead of further dates in Washington, D.C., Toronto, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and more cities.

Timberlake will return to the UK next summer to headline the Isle Of Wight Festival 2025 alongside Sting and Stereophonics. He’ll also perform in Belfast and Dublin, and make a bill-topping appearance at Lytham Festival in Lancashire.

Last month saw the singer plead guilty to driving while impaired, and call for fans to think again if they considered driving under the influence of alcohol.

The judge sentenced Timberlake to a $500 (£380) fine with a $260 (£198) surcharge, and 25 hours of community service at a non-profit of his choice.

Timberlake said: “Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car. There are so many alternatives. You can call a friend [or] take an Uber.

“This is a mistake that I made, but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake. I know that I certainly have.”

The former *NSYNC star released his sixth and most recent solo album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, in March.
