J. Cole is one of the biggest names in the rap world. However, apart from his accomplishments in the field, Cole has also been in the news for personal reasons. The most popular one is his beef with fellow rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Recently, the rapper chose to open up the matter in his new single called Port Antonio. In this latest track, with his carefully crafted verses, Cole shed light on the situation. So, how do Port Antonio’s lyrics by J. Cole highlight Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef?

Here is everything you need to know about the newly released track addressing the matter.

What did J. Cole say about Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef?

J. Cole’s Port Antonio lyrics subtly touch on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef without fully engaging in it.

For the unknown, earlier this year, Kendrick’s song Like That took aim at both Cole and Drake for their collaboration on First Person Shooter. While the beef escalated, J. Cole responded with a track called 7-Minute Drill, where he dissed Kendrick. However, the North Carolina rapper later apologized and removed the song from streaming platforms.

Cole also spoke up on this matter at his Dreamville Festival in North Carolina where he said that he felt lame and terrible for dissing Lamar. However, the hip-hop community members had different reactions to this matter.

Fat Joe felt that the She Knows fame made a poor decision to take back the diss. He was suggesting that he had ruined his reputation by feeling sorry for Lamar amid his feud with Drake. Now, J. Cole finally decided to pull out of this matter by dropping Port Antonio out of the blue. The lyrics went as follows taking a subtle dig at Lamar and Drake:

”I pulled the plug because I seen where that was about to go, they wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make they pockets grow/Wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro, I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?”

Further, the rapper mentions Drake expressing how much the latter did for him. He further requests him to tap into his magic pen which is the most important and leave behind all narratives.
