50 prestigious representatives from top European and local institutions and companies will be present at the Summit as speakers. The event will be the broadest platform for dialogue and collaboration between industries, through interactive panels, workshops and exhibitions.

The Romanian Associations for Wind and Photovoltaic Energy (RWEA & RPIA) are organizing on October 29 and 30 in Bucharest the most important event of the renewable energy industry. Power Shift Summit benefits from the support of the largest associations in Europe – WindEurope, SolarPower Europe – and local partners such as AmCham, Concordia, ACUE and AFEER.

The summit brings together prominent leaders from the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Romanian Government, along with influential representatives from the private, local, and regional sectors. Also in attendance will be the U.S. and U.K. Ambassadors to Romania, as well as representatives from leading European business organizations, including BusinessEurope and European Aluminium.

“Romania has recently set its targets for renewable energy by 2030, which requires significant investments in technology and infrastructure, as well as collaboration between the government and the private sector to ensure a coherent transition that benefits the entire chain: producers, network operators, suppliers and consumers. We need policies that attract investment and boost competitiveness. Our event creates precisely the necessary platform to facilitate dialogue and collaboration between essential economic sectors”, says Liviu Gavrilă, Vice President of RWEA.

The two-day Summit hosts panels, workshops and exhibitions. The discussions will focus on topics related to the development of networks, the acceleration of renewable energy projects and competitiveness at European level, new initiatives related to data centers and the use of artificial intelligence, all integrated in the context of the transition to green energy.

Alfredo Parres, Head of Renewables at Hitachi Energy, one of the top speakers present at the Summit, highlights that „electricity will be the backbone of future power systemand says that „while technologies are available, we need to plan holistically and accelerate investments while we develop new partnerships to deliver at speed and scale required.Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, points out to grid by claiming that “grid access is now the number one bottleneck to the build-out of renewables. This means less energy security and higher prices. Immediate action is needed to reap the potential of renewables in Romania and South-East Europe”.

At the Summit, the two major European energy market players will enrich the discussions with their key insights during the panels they participate in. These conversations will be further explored through expert-led workshops that will continue the debates on topics such as:

Prices and Trends in the Energy Market, supported by AFEERThe Role of the Consumer in Energy Transition, supported by ACUEStorage Solutions developed and implemented locally, supported by Monsson Energy Trading.Value Chain and Development Opportunities for Wind Projects in the Black Sea, supported by RWEARecycling Solutions in the Photovoltaic Industry, supported by RPIA and SolarPower Europe.

PowerShift Summit is supported by PPC Renewables, Vestas, Monsson, Evryo, Rezolv Energy, E.On, Engie, Prime Baterries Technology, Parapet, BayWa r.e. and Kraftfeld.

Romanian Wind Energy Association (RWEA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2008, which represents the main voice of the wind energy industry in Romania. With more than 50 members, including wind farm operators, developers, law firms, training centers, advisors in European funds and service providers, RWEA supports the development of the industry by strengthening the representation of its members, while encouraging their collaboration in various working groups and joint approaches.

The Association is committed to promoting policies and initiatives that support the development of wind energy, overcome local barriers, and contribute to the stability of energy markets, thereby maximizing growth opportunities. The Association advocates for a sustainable future driven by renewable technologies that are both environmentally friendly and competitive. Wind energy plays a crucial role in boosting economic growth and transitioning to a greener and more modern society.

The Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association (RPIA) is the leading voice for Romania’s solar energy sector, representing the interests of the photovoltaic industry and its partners across the associated value chain. RPIA actively supports the development of a sustainable, competitive energy market through collaboration with industry leaders, government bodies, and local communities.

The Association drives the dialogue around the fastest-growing and most cost-effective energy source. With over 50 members, including operators, developers, manufacturers, legal firms, and service providers, RPIA enhances industry representation and fosters knowledge-sharing to support Romania’s path to carbon neutrality and a sustainable future.

RPIA advocates for policies and initiatives that accelerate the efficient growth of solar energy by engaging in national and European decision-making processes. The Association promotes collaboration and communication among its members and key stakeholders, working to shape a legislative and regulatory framework that aligns with climate neutrality targets.
