Fans are eager to learn who won the cooking competition in We Live in Time. The romantic drama flick revolved around a couple and their unthinkable story. Florence Pugh‘s character Almut Brühl is depicted as a highly-skilled Bavarian fusion chef in the film. With her skills, many expected her to win the cooking competition. But, did Almut win the cooking competition or did somebody else bag the trophy?

Did Almut win the cooking competition in We Live in Time?
The film does not reveal whether Almut won the cooking competition or not.
In the middle of the cooking competition, Almut is struck by cancer-related pain. This weakens her significantly and halts her cooking. She then immediately hands over the reins to her sous chef Jade, and they successfully complete making their dish just before the timer ended. However, she leaves immediately, even before the judges can announce the winners, choosing to spend quality time with Tobias and Ella at a nearby ice rink.
The way the whole situation is written in the movie is to give the message that Almut’s results were less important to her compared to the quality time she wanted to spend with her family.
However, it is very possible that Almut may have won the competition, considering how she put almost much of her time and effort into training and preparing for it. She even clashes with Tobias, prioritizing the competition over her cancer treatment and upcoming wedding with him. Moreover, her depiction as an excellent chef in the film, eventually rising to the head chef position of her restaurant, further increases the likelihood that she may have won.
We Live in Time, directed by John Crowley, is currently playing in limited theaters in the United States. The movie features Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh in the lead roles. Grace Delaney, Aoife Hinds, Douglas Hodge, Lee Braithwaite, Amy Morgan, Adam James, and Niamh Cusack also appeared in the supporting roles.
