Terrifier 3 has finally hit theaters in the United States and the film is receiving nothing but love from horror fans with excellent reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. Additionally, even critics have put in a good word for the film. Following the story of the two Shaw siblings, the third part showcases Sienna and her brother Jonathan trying to adjust to their new life after previous encounters with Art the Clown. However, as they start to rebuild and get ready to enjoy Christmas, the terrifying clown returns for his murderous rampage.
Terrifier 3 reviews praise director Damien Leone
Following the release of Terrifier 3, the movie has taken cinema lovers around the world by storm. It is not only the movie that is receiving all the praise, but reviewers are also not holding back their words of appreciation for director Damien Leone.
Leone has helmed the Terrifier movie franchise since its debut in 2016. Lauding his work in his review, Erik Piepenburg of The New York Times wrote, “Nobody is pushing horror boundaries quite like the writer-director Damien Leone. Eight years ago, his killer clown film “Terrifier” had gorehounds buzzing. Its 2022 sequel unexpectedly broke into the mainstream and to date has earned over $15 million, a huge haul for a blood-drenched exploitation slasher.”
In his review , Jacob Hall of Slash Film wrote, “This is a movie that sets out on its own dark mission, and accomplishes that mission with a skill that is undeniable.” Meanwhile, Michael Ordona of The Wrap lauded the threequel and wrote, “Terrifier 3 improves on previous entries while spurting out the blood and guts in increasingly elaborate fashions that will have Art lovers laughing and screaming.”
Additionally, Terrifier 3 has become the top choice of moviegoers in France, despite being banned for minors. Damien Leone shared on X ( formerly Twitter), “Terrifier 3 is the #1 movie in France! TERRIFIER 3’ takes the lead at the French box office for its first day in cinemas ahead of ‘LE ROBOT SAUVAGE’. The film recorded 45,000 admissions on only 126 prints, a remarkable performance for a film prohibited for those under 18!”
Terrifier 3 Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores revealed
Terrifier 3 has achieved great scores on review sites Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.
As per Rotten Tomatoes, the horror flick earned 77 percent from 60 reviews and 94 percent on the Popcornmeter. Additionally, Terrifier 3 bagged a score of 61 on Metacritic, which comes under the category of ‘generally favorable’, with more than 50 percent positive reviews.
Terrifier 3 hit theatres on October 11, 2024. As reviews keep pouring in, the scores might change slightly, but the overall reaction toward the film seems to be positive and full of praises.
