RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) – Time is running out for people to apply for relief as they recover from the South Fork and Salt fires. The fires earlier this summer destroyed hundreds of structures including several homes before ensuing floodwaters caused more damage.
FEMA has offered assistance for temporary lodging, basic home repairs, property loss, and other expenses. The deadline to apply is October 19. Businesses also have eight days to apply for loans through the Small Business Association.
