Albuquerque balloon museum unveils new tool to promote early childhood learning

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – There’s a new tool at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum helping kickstart kids’ love for learning. The balloon museum and PNC Bank partnered up to celebrate the launch of the Stories in the Sky Book Nook in the elevation station. Museum officials hope the new nook can help create a love of learning among Albuquerque’s youth at their free Stories and Music in the Sky events every Wednesday.

“That’s for our earliest childhood visitors. They are the zero to 5 age, and it’s really important to engage with them at a really young age so they spark a love for learning,” said Manager Nan Masland, Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum.

Kids got to celebrate the launch with a balloon drop of 1,000 balloons and a special visit from the Cookie Monster. Participants in Explora’s Brillante Program also took part in a special story time with the City of Albuquerque’s First Lady Elizabeth Keller. TheBbook Nook is part of PNC Bank’s Grow up Great initiative aimed at improving early childhood education and literacy.
