Albuquerque City Council approves funding for West Mesa housing development project

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque City Council approved $8 million from the Housing Forward Fund for the West Mesa Ridge Housing Development. The 128-unit project, located on Coors near Fortuna, will be available for people making 60% or below of the Area Median Income. 13 units will be available for very low-income households.

The city’s funding covers 18% of the total projected cost. “Albuquerque needs affordable housing all over town, which was underscored again by neighbors who participated in our Constructive Conversations series,” said Deputy Director of Housing Joseph Montoya in a press release. “With the approval of this funding, West Mesa Ridge can get ready to start building.”
