Albuquerque city employee accused of battery released ahead of trial

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque city employee accused of aggravated battery and attempt to commit a robbery was released from custody while waiting trial.

Police arrested 36-year-old Alfred Flores in connection to the June incident. Security footage shows a fight break out in front of Frontier restaurant on Central Ave. A woman told police that she was leaving the restaurant with her husband when two people tried to steal her purse. An altercation broke out and police say Flores came out and started to fight the husband. Police say Flores put the man in a headlock causing him to pass out. Police said he then kicked the victim in the face

Flores is being charged with aggravated battery and attempt to commit a robbery. Police say they have identified the other two men. Judge Jennifer Wernersbach released Flores from custody while he waits for trial.
