Albuquerque leaders celebrate reopening of Foothills trail

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – City leaders came out to the far east side of Albuquerque on Thursday morning to dedicate a reopened trail that connects neighbors to Foothills walking trails. The Allaso High Desert Community, near Tramway and Academy, will continue to have access to the newly dedicated Polly Rogers Trail.

It’s a pathway that the builders have been planning their development around since the project started in 2019. “As part of this development, it was absolutely critical from Day 1, to make sure that this trail happened. And to make sure that it was open to the community, open to the public. Therefore, we could have people from the North Side, crossing under Tramway, or going to get their groceries down at Albertsons,” said Josh Rogers, Titan Development.

The trail has been partially blocked off for years, as it was under construction, but now its fully open.
