Albuquerque makes WalletHub’s best/worst housing market list

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – If you’re in the market for a new home, you already know it’s a daunting task. The state in which you are looking might have a lot to do with how the search will go. WalletHub recently ranked 300 U.S. cities on their housing markets and also looked at their affordability and economic environment rank.

Albuquerque made the list at No. 217. The Duke City housing market rate was ranked as No. 231 with an affordability ranking at No. 76. Albuquerque also ranked No. 50 among other large cities.


The best and worst states to live in the US, according to WalletHub

McKinney, TX ended up having the best real estate market according to WalletHub. The city has a total score of 74.09, its real estate market ranks No. 1, and its affordability and economic environment ranked No. 3.

New Orleans, LA ended up having the worst housing market, with the No. 300 spot and No. 233 and an affordability ranking of 233.

To make their list, WalletHub compared the cities across two key dimensions, “Real Estate Market” and “Affordability & Economic Environment.” The dimensions were evaluated using 17 relevant metrics with their own corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale with a score of 100 representing the healthiest housing market.
