Albuquerque man facing up to 10 years in prison after drunk driving crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man, Lionel Medina, has pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury after a 2021 crash. The 29-year-old man admitted to driving while under the influence during the incident.

Media was driving drunk when he crashed into another vehicle. The woman in that vehicle suffered fractures to her spine, sternum, arm, leg, and foot, according to the federal plea agreement.

The crash happened within the exterior boundary of the Santa Ana Pueblo. Now, Lionel Medina is awaiting sentencing, and he faces up to 10 years in prison.
