Albuquerque man sentenced to 17 years in prison for 2022 fatal shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who shot and killed his friend during a drunk argument two years ago will spend more than 15 years behind bars. Christopher Wade shot Dustin Banteah with a sawed-off shotgun back in June 2022.


Thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise recovered after raid at Santa Fe home

The two were drinking at the Sun Plaza Apartments on Montgomery and Jefferson when they got into an argument which led to a fistfight. Wade went and got a gun and then shot Banteah in the chest killing him.

He was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and other charges. Judge Lucy Solimon sentenced Wade to 17 years in prison.
