Court records show in 2023 Bennet showed up at her parents house in Albuquerque, saying her 4-month-old daughter was dead. An autopsy says the cause of death is undetermined, but they did find meth in the babies system. Witnesses told police Bennett was a drug user and would breastfeed the baby. Days earlier, Bennett led police on a chase with the baby after shoplifting at a gas station.
Bennett is facing between four and 12 years at sentencing. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
