ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested 34-year-old Juan Magana after being caught in a bait car Tuesday morning.
Surveillance video shows Magana get into a bait car near Gibson and Yale around 6:30 a.m. Multiple cameras inside the vehicle capture Magana driving the vehicle and speaking on the phone with an unknown person. Moments later APD disabled the vehicle near Garfield and Stanford. According to a criminal complaint, Magana then attempted to steal the battery from the car and cover up damage to the steering column. Magana was arrested by police and faces charges of auto theft and tampering with evidence.
