Thursday around 9:30 p.m. APD was called to investigate a crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian near Trumbull Ave. and San Pablo St. Police say two pedestrians were walking in the road on Trumbull when a dark colored truck or Jeep was traveling at a high rate of speed toward the pedestrians. One of the pedestrians was able to jump out of the way, the other was struck by the vehicle and declared dead on scene. The driver fled the scene.

Friday around 4 a.m. APD responded to reports of a vehicle that crashed into a pole and caught fire near Juan Tabo Blvd. and Montgomery Blvd. Police say a red BMW was traveling north on Juan Tabo at a high rate of speed when it lost control. The vehicle hit a curb, crashed into a brick wall and power pole. APD says a male inside the vehicle died from his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. A female inside the vehicle was taken to the University of New Mexico hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.
