Albuquerque woman facing charges for deadly weekend crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman is now facing charges for a five-vehicle crash that killed one person and sent three others to the hospital. An arrest warrant stated that 36-year-old Nikole Zamora was speeding down Lomas Blvd. and running red lights Sunday night when she crashed into a black Cadillac at Second Street. The collision sent the Cadillac into three other cars.

The driver of the Cadillac was killed while Zamora was one of the three hospitalized. According to the warrant, the airbag control module in Zamora’s car indicated she was traveling 54 miles an hour just before the crash and was accelerating to 70 miles an hour at the time of the impact.

Zamora was charged with homicide by vehicle (reckless driving) and great bodily injury by vehicle (reckless driving) among other charges.
