Aleksiah is fast becoming a name to watch out for.
Her 2024 bubblegum pop EP, Who Are You When You’re Not Performing?, with its clean production and inviting pastel palette, has been a triple j favourite. The EP functions as a spangled time capsule of new adulthood, with six snappy tracks that chronicle the malaise, confusion, romantic fallout, sweet crushes, and blossoming relationships that pepper one’s early twenties. Her sentiments are universal, her aesthetic is dreamy, and her songs are catchy, garnering over a million streams on Spotify.
A musician hot on the scene, Aleksiah has spent the past couple of years almost constantly on the move, building her career by playing shows throughout the country with her trusty scarlet heart-shaped guitar in hand.

Strawberry Milk
It’s become a tradition that I drink a carton of strawberry milk onstage at a show. It started as an in-joke because I notoriously get a dry throat when I’m nervous so I started drinking milk before shows but it’s kind of a good luck charm now!
Crossword/Word Search books
My band and I seem to always have the worst luck with flights – they’re so often either cancelled or postponed – so we’ve recently been going old school and doing puzzles in books to pass the time. I’m a whiz at word searches and Jack my guitarist smashes the crosswords.
Film Camera
I always try to take my film camera whenever I go interstate for gigs. I’m not sure how but I’m always just so much more fond of the photos that I take on it rather than my phone, they seem so much more warm and sentimental
Headphones
If I leave anywhere, let alone the state, without my headphones I think I’ll die. I’ve always gotta have them on me, just in case I need to listen to a new mix. Or sometimes I pop them on when I’m warming up to block out noise!
Sugar Free Red Bulls
These have been a key part of my food group pyramid since university. It’s one of the few vices that I know aren’t good for me that I just can’t give up. One of these pre-show is crucial, plus they’re so yummy hehe.
