All Florida theme parks except Disney World close for Hurricane Milton

Universal, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Legoland in Florida will close as Hurricane Milton heads for the central part of the state while Disney World plans to ride out the Category 5 hurricane and remain open during the storm.

The latest forecast for Hurricane Milton calls for the major storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico to make landfall on Thursday, Oct. 10 in the Tampa Bay area and cut a path over the major theme parks in central Florida.

Walt Disney World’s four theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot — are currently operating under normal conditions while closely monitoring Milton’s path.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs will close on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and will likely remain closed until the storm passes.

Walt Disney World has blocked all new theme park reservations for Wednesday and paused all new hotel reservations to prepare for the storm, according to WDW News Today.

Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk will close early on Wednesday and remain closed on Thursday. The Volcano Bay water park will be closed on Oct. 9 and 10. Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is canceled on Oct. 9 and 10.

SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove and SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park will close on Wednesday and Thursday.

Busch Gardens Tampa is closed Tuesday, Oct. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 10 with the after-hours Howl-O-Scream haunted event canceled on Thursday night.

Legoland Florida in Winter Haven will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to the storm. The Legoland Hotel will remain open during the storm with limited capacity.

Orlando International Airport will halt passenger flights on Wednesday while Tampa International closed to passenger travel on Tuesday.

Florida theme parks offer inclement weather guidelines that allow visitors to reschedule or cancel theme park and hotel reservations if the National Weather Service issues a hurricane or tropical storm warning.
