Artists to give presentations on proposed art for North Valley Aquatics Center

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Community members will soon have an opportunity to view artists’ presentations for the North Valley Aquatics Center public art project.

The presentations from artists Nani Chacon, Scott Sutton, and Paz Ehecatl will take place at the Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, located at 9800 Fourth St. NW, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.


Bernalillo County’s speed cameras will go live in the fall

A local selection committee will pick a finalist for the project and present the candidate to the Arts Board and the Board of County Commissioners in September for final approval. The budget for the project is $75,000 and the selected artist is expected to complete the project in the spring of 2025. 

Semi-finalists’ presentation schedule:

10:30 a.m. Introduction

11:00 a.m. Nani Chacon

11:45 a.m. Break

12:30 p.m. Scott Sutton

1:15 p.m. Paz Ehecatl

2-2:30 p.m. Discussion
