At least 13 injured after strong explosion at Dedeman in

A strong explosion occurred on Friday at the Dedeman DIY store in Botoșani. The authorities have activated the Red Intervention Plan. From the first information, at least 13 people were injured, with four in serious condition, and over a hundred people, customers and employees, self-evacuated. Rescuers are looking inside the store for other possible victims.

According to the information so far, five of the injured are employees and eight are customers of the store.

The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) states that one of the victims is in serious condition, intubated. 110 people, employees and customers, self-evacuated.

Two SMURD helicopters from Iasi and Galati were sent to Botoșani.

“Considering the number of people involved, the Red Intervention Plan was activated at the county level. In order to make the response mission more efficient, 2 fire trucks, 1 personal transport vehicle for multiple victims, 2 SMURD ambulances and 1 mobile intensive care unit were assigned to the scene,” announced the the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
