At least 3 seriously wounded in separate city shootings overnight

At least three victims were critically wounded overnight in gun violence on the North and South sides, Chicago police said.

The latest attack happened shortly before 2:45 a.m. in the West Woodlawn neighborhood in the 6700 block of South Eberhart Avenue, police said.

A 35-year-old man was inside a vehicle when someone opened fire striking him to the head and face. He was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine.

Shortly before 1 a.m., a man in his 20s was shot in the River North neighborhood in the 1600 block of North Astor Street. He was walking when someone opened fire, striking him to the left thigh and buttocks. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

Shortly before midnight, a 39-year-old man was shot as he was walking in the Gage Park neighborhood in the 3200 block of West 55th Street, police said.

He was taken with a gunshot wound to the left arm to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody for the overnight shootings, and detectives were investigating.
