Austin Trout to defend BKFC title in Spain

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Austin Trout won his first belt in BKFC in February. He is now set to defend it.

During BKFC’s press conference on Thursday which introduced Connor McGregor as the promotion’s new co-owner, a fight card was announced for October 12 in Marbella, Spain. Part of the card will feature the welterweight championship between Austin Trout and Rico Franco.

Trout (2-0 BKFC) is still relatively new to bare knuckle fighting, but the Las Cruces native has a rich history in boxing. With a record on 37-5-1 and 18 KO with gloves, Trout is a former WBA light middleweight champion.

Franco (3-0 BKFC) hails from England. He has previous combat experience in MMA.

Trout vs Franco will be part of a card headlined by a lightweight title bout between Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto. It will take place at the Marbella Arena.
