Australian pop sensation Behani is set to add “reality star” to her resume, following the announcement of her very own reality TV series, Behind Behani.
The eight-part show will follow Behani (real name Rebekah Behbahani) through the highs and lows of the life of the singer-songwriter, as she plans her upcoming wedding to prominent investor and philanthropist Alex Waislitz, juggles her American press tour, takes care of her daughter, and continues as a rising star in the music industry.
The first episode, premiering on October 16 via 7Bravo and 7plus, will even feature a cameo from Tyga, as Behani films the music video for Comfortable, her hit collaboration with the American rapper.
Speaking to Purple Sneakers last year about the track, Behani reiterated her appreciation for Tyga: “Having a deep appreciation for Tyga’s artistry and rap style, I felt that his vibe would complement the easy-breezy, feel-good nature of Comfortable. After sending him the record, Tyga loved it and even contributed a verse. His addition elevated the song to a whole new level, allowing it to resonate with both pop and R&B audiences.”
As for Behind Behani, the artist expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming show in a press release: “I’m excited to share an intimate look into the various aspects of my music journey, from the creative process behind my music and the pressures of live performing, to the glamour of fashion, and the balancing act of being a mother to Storm, and partner to my amazing fiancé, Alex.”
The announcement of Behind Behani comes off the back of an already exciting year for the singer. Dropping new single Again and Again in March, Behani also announced that she had signed with major label ADA/Warner Music Australia.
Warner Music Australasia President Dan Rosen said of the signing, “We’re extremely excited to welcome Behani to the ADA and Warner Music Australia family and look forward to working with her and her team so we can take her music to the world stage.”
‘Behind Behani’ premieres on Wednesday, 16 October at 9.30pm on 7Bravo and 7plus.
