ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –The Bernalillo County Fire Department presented its new electric powered fire engine Tuesday.
“We sent a bunch of our people up to Portland to look at their fire engines that they’re running. And they’ve had nothing but good things to say about these engines. they run 1,000 calls with no issues,” BCFD Public information officer William Harris said. The truck comes with a backup diesel engine to make sure the truck does not lose power while on a call. The new truck has a price tag of $2.1 million.
