Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam callers posing as sheriff’s officials

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent string of scam calls involving scammers posing as BCSO officials.

News: Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office charges pair with elder abuse

BCSO says the scammers on the other end of the calls are demanding court payments over the phone, sometimes even appearing as the sheriff’s office on caller ID. BCSO says they will never ask for payments over the phone. Anyone receiving these calls is asked to not pay any money and hang up immediately.
