Billy Strings has announced via social media that Renewal Festival will be refunding GA and VIP tickets. This news arrives following the birth of Strings’ son over the weekend, which led to the star’s last-minute absence from the fourth annual iteration of his signature festival, set in The Woodlands of Buena Vista, Colo. on Sept. 27 and 28.
“We want to extend our deepest gratitude for being a part of an extraordinary Renewal. Your overwhelming show of support, kindness, and positivity truly made this year an unforgettable experience,” Strings shared, alluding to the fans who supported his decision to put family first, as well as the performers who stepped up over the weekend.
While expressing gratitude for his fans and fellow musicians, Strings recognized that the situation was out of the ordinary, adding that the festival will compensate attendees who purchased GA and VIP tickets. The processing of refunds will begin this Friday, Oct. 4, and Tixr service fees will be waived. “We understand that changes can be disappointing, and appreciate your understanding as we strive to accommodate everyone as best as we can,” Strings continued in his post, outlining the details of the refunds.
“Moments like these remind us of the power of friendship and community,” Strings stated, before adding another expression of gratitude and signing off, promising to see fans “real soon.” Though Strings welcomed his son into the world on Monday, his fall tour is expected to continue as scheduled, with his next headlining performance set for Oct. 5 at Clarkston, Mich’s Pine Knob Music Theatre in his home state.
