Bystander helps BCSO stop woman fleeing on bike

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Bernalillo County deputies who were chasing a suspect on a bicycle got an assist from a bystander who took down the fleeing woman.

Dolores Chavez was on probation for breaking into a home near Louisiana and Central in April 2023. In September, she reportedly failed to appear for a probation appointment.

On Wednesday, BCSO was chasing after Chavez when a person in a car opened their car door and knocked Chavez to the ground. BSCO shared a video of the incident on its social media pages.

She was then arrested by deputies and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center and is waiting for a probation violation hearing.
