Chase Silseth grinding through rehab process

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Piedra Vista High School graduate and current Los Angeles Angels pitcher Chase Silseth is in Albuquerque this week on a rehab assignment with the Salt Lake Bees.

This is some of the first action Silseth has seen on the mound this season. He suffered an elbow injury during his second start of the season with the Angels and he says he is close to making a full recovery.

“Going through rehab is tough,” said Silseth. “Coming back, you’re going to go through a lot of adversity and you just have to find a way to keep pushing through it, finding a way to be better at it, trusting your body, trying to get through it. It’s tough because this is one of the most major rehabs I’ve been going through.”

Silseth is coming off his best season in the majors. In 2023, he appeared in 16 games and recorded a 3.96 ERA. He also recorded 56 strikeouts in 52.1 innings of work.

“Still trying to take in as much as I can, but that injury set me back a little bit and I think I’m just trying too hard to get back to where I was,” he said. “I need to get back to that if I’m going to be successful. You know, you got to keep grinding and hopefully one day be better than what I was during that span.”

Prior to his injury this season, Silseth racked up 12 strikeouts in eight innings on the mound.
