A California Highway Patrol officer was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition after he was struck by a vehicle Sunday morning, August 18 while assisting with a disabled vehicle on the 5 Freeway in Sylmar, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:26 a.m. on the southbound freeway, north of State Route 14, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Paramedics transported the officer to a hospital. His condition was not known.
The CHP said the southbound freeway, north of State Route 14, has been closed for an unknown duration.
No further information was available.
