Chhris Moncada has been promoted to COO at MNRK Music Group, effective immediately.
Based in Toronto, Moncada will oversee all day-to-day operations at MNRK, develop and implement business strategies, and drive strategic growth initiatives with a focus on A&R, artist development and catalog growth. He will work across MNRK offices in New York, Nashville, Toronto and the U.K., reporting to MNRK president/CEO Sean Stevenson.
Following the promotion, Moncada has several new direct reports: Scott Givens, senior vp of rock and metal; Ted May, MD U.K./head of international; Ian “J.Y.” Williams, senior director of A&R; and Ben Chan, director of synch.
Moncada joined MNRK in 2015 as GM of the MNRK label imprint Last Gang after previously serving in marketing, A&R and artist services roles at both Universal and Warner Music. In 2022, his purview broadened to encompass A&R functions across the MNRK label group, which also includes Dualtone.
“Chris has proven to be instrumental in getting new deals through the signing process. His eye for talent, ear for songs, and ability to understand both MNRK’s business needs as well as artist concerns has been invaluable as we change the shape of the organization,” said Stevenson in a statement.
Moncada added, “As I take on this new role, I am reminded how thankful I am for the opportunity to continue playing a part in the journey our artists take releasing their music into the world.
