Community meetings with NM State president finalists this week

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Four finalists for the New Mexico State University president’s job will be on campus in the coming week.

One of the finalists, Neil Mackinnon, has withdrawn as he has been selected to be president of another university, NMSU officials said.

Here is the schedule for faculty/staff, student and community forums for the remaining four finalists.

Monday, Sept. 9:
Arsenio Romero, Ph.D., former secretary of public education, state of New Mexico

Faculty and staff forum: 10 to 10:50 a.m., Corbett Center Student Union auditorium and Zoom

Student forum: 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., Corbett Center Student Union auditorium and Zoom

Community forum: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Las Cruces Convention Center and Zoom

Tuesday, Sept. 10:
Brian Haynes, Ph.D., vice chancellor for student affairs, University of California, Riverside   

Faculty and staff forum: 10 to 10:50 a.m., Corbett Center Student Union auditorium and Zoom

Student forum: 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., Corbett Center Student Union auditorium and Zoom

Community forum: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Las Cruces Convention Center and Zoom

Thursday, Sept. 12:

The New Mexico State University Board of Regents will hold a closed meeting from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus.
 
The meeting has been called to interview finalists for the president of NMSU, and the interview will be closed to the public.
 
The regents will take no official board action during this meeting.
