(NEXSTAR) — Black & Decker is recalling about 44,400 units of its Craftsman V20 Cordless Tiller/Cultivators over concerns that the item’s assembly instructions could lead customers to incorrectly attach a portion, causing its blades to rotate toward the user.
The recall is only for Craftsman V20 Cordless Tiller/Cultivators with model number CMCTL320B, which is located on the underside of the upper handle, according to Black & Decker.
The affected tillers/cultivators can also be identified by:
Tillers/cultivators are red and black
They show “CRAFTSMAN” on their handles and on their bottoms
UPC number 885911843430 can be found on side of product packaging
The items were sold nationally between October 2022 and April 2024 for $129-$179 at Lowe’s, Ace Hardware, Blain’s Farm & Fleet stores, and some Army and Air Force Exchanges.
Though there have been no injuries reported so far, Black & Decker says it’s received one report of incorrect attachment of the bottom portion of one of the units.
Customers should immediately stop using these tillers/cultivators and are advised to contact Craftsman for new instructions on proper assembly. Craftsman and other sellers are contacting known purchasers for further instructions, according to the recall.
