Daniel Radcliffe has offered some valuable advice to Max’s Harry Potter TV reboot, encouraging the team behind the series to let the cast “be kids.”

Radcliffe, who had played the titular wizard since he was 12 until the eighth and final Harry Potter movie, couldn’t provide any advice for the Max reboot’s upcoming stars. However, the actor had some words for the producers.

As someone who has been in the public eye at an early age and who knows firsthand what it’s like dealing with such popularity and pressure on set, the actor encouraged the producers to let the stars “be kids,” especially given that the series will be produced “in the age of social media.”

“Just like, let them be kids still. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to do that in the age of social media. We were kind of a little bit before that,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight during the red carpet at the Tony Awards, for which he was nominated and later won his first Tony.

Though he couldn’t provide any advice for the future Harry Potter actors at the moment, he is hoping he can talk to them when the opportunity allows. “I don’t know. Hopefully, I will meet whoever that person is one day and I’ll be face to face.”

Earlier this year, Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton — who also grew up before the audience’s eyes alongside Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and more — told the team behind the show to document their time on the set.

What to expect in the Harry Potter TV reboot?

The Harry Potter television adaptation, announced last year, is expected to explore all seven books through a planned seven-season series. While the series is sure to be happening, the exact release date has yet to be announced. The series is said to be targeting a 2026 debut

All eight Harry Potter movies are available to stream on Max.
