David Tennant vs Alex Hassell in 1980s TV Series ‘Rivals’ Full Trailer

“Having an opponent–” “Makes life much more exciting.” Hulu has revealed the full official trailer for their series titled Rivals, adapted from the book of the same name written by Dame Jilly Cooper. Set within the social elite of 1980s England, Rivals stars Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black, ex-Olympian & Member of Parliament who is described as “an incorrigible rake, and dangerously charismatic.” David Tennant in turn plays Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium Television — Rupert’s single-mindedly ambitious and egotistical foe. Against the backdrop of the drama, excess, and shocking antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England, Rivals delves headfirst into the ruthless world of independent television 📺 in 1986 – where it’s every man and woman for themselves. This fun series also stars Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara, Katherine Parkinson as Lizzie, Nafessa Williams as Cameron Cook, Emily Atack as Sarah Stratton, Catriona Chandler as Caitlin O’Hara, with Oliver Chris, Danny Dyer, Rufus Jones, Lisa McGrillis, Luke Pasqualino, Claire Rushbrook, and Victoria Smurfit. Looks like Succession but for England instead, with all the usual wackiness from the 80s included. This looks wild & ruthless, doesn’t it? // Continue Reading ›
