Delivery Drop New Single & Announce Album, ‘Force Majeure’

Melbourne garage punk outfit Delivery have officially announced the release of their long-awaited second album, with Force Majeure slated for a January release.

Fresh from the release of recent single Digging The Hole in July, Delivery had hinted towards big happenings soon with their signing to the UK-based Heavenly Recordings. Now, the fruits of their latest labour have been revealed, with new single Operating At A Loss arriving as the latest taste of their next album.

A blistering mix of punk rock and new wave, the frenetic track shows an unafraid band propelling their way into the future, while also paying tribute to post punk icons such as Magazine and Television.

“I’ve never really worked in a proper office, but Operating At A Loss is what I imagine goes on around the professional workplace,” the band said of the song. “Lots of business jargon, dudes in suits climbing the corporate ladder, plenty of sentiments like ‘you’ve got to spend money to make money’ etc.

“To be fair, I actually do like that phrase although this song is more about the first component than the second one. I also like playing guitar, and on this occasion I made up some chords and told the band to play them on repeat so I could do a big solo. ‘You win some, you lose some’ etc.”

The new track also comes alongside the news that Delivery will release their new album, Force Majeure, on January 17th, with pre-orders (and a chance to score some exclusive footy shorts) available now.

Force Majeure is the follow-up to Delivery’s 2022 debut album, Forever Giving Handshakes, which saw them receive widespread acclaim from tastemakers around the world.

Most recently, Delivery wrapped up a 17-date tour of the UK and Europe in August, and currently preparing to head back to the UK to serve as support for indie rock veterans The Vaccines.
