Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4 recap: Tanjiro trains under Muichiro
Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4, “To Bring a Smile to One’s Face,” begins with Tanjiro arriving at Muichiro Tokito’s abode to find him training various demon slayers. The Mist Hashira seemed harsh on the trainees, insulting them for not being competent enough.
However, as soon as Muichiro finds Tanjiro at the door, his temperament changes, and he greets the protagonist with a smile. The episode primarily focuses on Muichiro and the demon slayers training under him. He then takes Tanjiro to Kanamori, explaining that his presence ensures that Muichiro’s sword is perfect for battle at any given moment. Later, the episode shows an anime-original scene wherein Muichiro Tokito meets with Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa. The latter two battle with the Mist Hashira as part of their personal training.
During his Rapid Movement Training, Muichiro finds that Tanjiro is prepared for the battle and happily sends him off to train under the next Hashira. The episode ends with the protagonist and other demon slayers challenging Muichiro to a paper airplane flying contest. Tanjiro requests the Mist Hashira to treat the trainees softly and departs to train under Mitsuri Kanroji.
