Dimatik Lands In Hospital After Tour

Australian hard dance tastemaker Dimatik (aka Domenico Pergoleto) has taken to Instagram after returning from a string of tour dates in Asia, gigging in Malaysia and Singapore, and revealing that he’s been taken to the hospital.

“Not the ideal way to end my tour,” the DJ wrote alongside a photo of himself in a hospital bed. He arrived in Australia on Tuesday night (20 August) and required a wheelchair from the plane to the emergency hospital.

Writing that he began experiencing symptoms during three flights that consisted of 25 hours of flying, Pergoleto said that the unpleasantness started “with some small calf pain and foot numbness.” With each stopover, the pain worsened.

“Second stop in Doha I was limping & by the time I landed home in Adelaide I could barely walk and was in excruciating pain,” he continued.

Adding that he’s already had CT scans, so far, the doctors have found a bulge in his L5-S1 disc—the lumbosacral joint, the transitional region between the lumbar spine and sacral spine in the lower back (per Spine Health)—with Pergoleto writing that there’s more going on.

Upon sharing the post yesterday (21 August), the DJ said he’s awaiting MRI results, which he should have today.

Pergoleto continued, “As it stands currently, I can barely walk, my left foot is 60% numb & my legs are extremely weak. Praying by tomorrow I have more answers on what this road to recovery will be.

“My thoughts are going out to anyone else battling health problems right now, it’s damn hard to stay positive.”

The Music sends our best wishes to Dimatik.

Dimatik was set to appear at the acclaimed music festival Don’t Let Daddy Know, which was set to make its debut in Australia—with dates booked in for Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane—back in January. Unfortunately, the event was postponed in November, and new dates still haven’t been announced.

Don’t Let Daddy Know organisers announced in October that the festival was set to make its way Down Under for the first time, with TEG GROUP CEO Geoff Jones saying, “TEG is thrilled to be bringing one of the world’s premier EDM festivals to Australian shores.”

“Renowned for featuring some of the biggest and most influential artists in EDM, along with some very impressive production, Australian electronic music fans should definitely mark these dates in their calendar as it’s sure to be the event of the Australian summer!”
