This development was confirmed in a recent Big Issue interview by showrunner Russell T. Davies. The upcoming fifteenth season of Doctor Who will see Ncuti Gatwa reprise his role as the Fifteenth Doctor. Millie Gibson will also reprise her role in Season 15 as his companion, Ruby Sunday.
Gatwa and Gibson will be joined by Varada Sethu, who will play an additional companion to the Fifteenth Doctor. Sethu previously appeared in Season 14’s episode “Boom” as a guest character named Mundy Flynn. It is currently unclear if there will be any connection between Flynn and Sethu’s character in Season 15. Other cast members expected to be featured this season are Jonah Hauer-King, Jemma Redgrave, Bonnie Langford, Anita Dobson, and Angela Wynter.
Is Doctor Who canceled after Series 14 or renewed for Disney Plus?
Doctor Who has been renewed for Season 15 on Disney Plus. The new season will consist of a Christmas special followed by eight episodes. The Christmas special titled “Joy to the World”, will air on BBC One and Disney Plus on December 25, 2024.
According to Den of Geek, Doctor Who Series 15 was filmed between October 2023 and May 25, 2024.
