Dodson continuing bare-knuckle career in Japan

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – During the recent stages of his combat sports career, John Dodson has fought in bare-knuckle bouts in America and MMA in Japan. His next fight will be a combination of the two, as he will be part of the second-ever bare-knuckle fight in Japan.

“It’s going to be awesome to go out there and showcase my true talents of being a bare-knuckle World Champion,” said Dodson. “I am going to go out to Japan and knuckle somebody’s face in and show them the true opportunity in what bare knuckle can bring for their own sports and their culture.”

The card will be part of the same promotion that Dodson has fought on in Japan, Rizin. There is some added excitement for him on the night, as 12-time world champion boxer Manny Pacquiao will also take part in an exhibition match.

The Super Rizin 3 card will take place on July 28th in Japan. It will take place on July 27th at 10 p.m. locally.
