Double J’s ‘Filthy Fifty’ Revealed

This week, Double J is cranking up the heat with a new countdown, the Filthy Fifty, or the 50 Best Songs About Sex.

The countdown is set to feature delightfully spicy tunes as well as serve downright dirty bangers on-air and online. The Filthy Fifty is the latest countdown to feature on the J’s, following 50 Best Debut Albums, 50 Best Debut Singles and 50 Gigs You Should’ve Been At.

While you can listen to the Filthy Fifty in its entirety from 9 pm this Saturday, 28 September, on Double J, the station is offering other cheeky celebrations for the occasion.

Yumi Stynes will host Filthy Fifty Up Late from 9 pm Monday to Friday on Double J, “ProfessorChit Chat Von Loopin Stab (of Machine Gun Fellatio fame) will dig into the History of Filth, the station will spin “dirty guest mixes and steamy editions” of Classic Albums, Live At The Wireless, Eleven, and The Block Party, and rage will get naughty from 1 am on Sunday, 29 September.

As for the songs you’ll hear, Double J will be spinning classics like You Only Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed by the Skyhooks, Salt-N-Pepa’s Let’s Talk About Sex, Divinyls I Touch Myself, Olivia Newton-John’s Physical, Korn’s A.D.I.D.A.S., Machine Gun Fellatio’s Pussy Town, Nine Inch NailsCloser, George Michael’s I Want Your Sex, Madonna’s Erotica, Fuck The Pain Away by Peaches, INXS’s Need You Tonight, Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On, and many more.

Double J celebrated its tenth birthday earlier this year by locking in Jay & The Doctor reprising their 2000s triple j Breakfast show, an appearance by Regurgitator, presenters Dylan LewisZan RoweKaren LengCaz TranHenry Wagons, and Tim Shiel, and artists such as Dan Sultan, Spiderbait, Sarah Blasko, Bad//Dreems, Adalita, Tim Rogers, Bag Raiders, Sarah Blasko, and many more honouring the station.

Elsewhere, Osher Günsberg and Yumi Stynes reunited and reminisced over Big Day Out memories, and Rosie Beaton played your requests. The big day was sent off with an exclusive mix from Fatboy Slim.
