Drier weather for the next few days

Happy Labor Day Everyone! The majority of the rain today will be condensed to Southeast New Mexico. Temperatures are seasonably warm across the rest of the state.

Heavy rainfall is being seen across Southeastern New Mexico this afternoon. This rain will persist through the evening. Showers will become spotty in the region overnight. On Tuesday the rain will begin to lighten up. This is because of the excessively dry air moving into New Mexico. The best chances for rainfall will be in Southeast New Mexico and the Northern Mountains.

As the state drastically dries out over the next few days, you can expect temperatures to warm up. The lack of rain will allow parts of New Mexico to reach above average temperatures by the middle of the week. Though these temperatures should be nowhere near record breaking.

Isolated rain will be returning to New Mexico on Thursday when a backdoor cold front moves into the state. This will be bringing rain chances to more of Northern and Central New Mexico through the weekend.
